Things I Bought At Target

I went to Target on Saturday for groceries and to spend the gift cards I received for Christmas. I have been wanting a big, sharp knife for awhile now, mainly for chopping up mass amounts of veggies. I spotted this one from Target, did a little price comparison at TJ Maxx, and decided to use my Christmas gift cards towards it (and many other things!)

This thing cuts like a hot iron through butter. It's great! I just have to be careful not to chop my fingers off. 

I was wondering around the store and these Hello Kitty socks caught my eye. I just couldn't resist!

I have a couple dresses like this already, one in purple and one in hot pink, but I really liked this pattern and the fabric seems a bit more stretchy. It's a very nice teal color. I think I'm in a teal mood, because I set out to find a teal cardigan!

I hit the make-up department and picked several items. First, I saw this new Cover Girl mascara, and I'm always looking for ways to make my eyelashes look even more amazing ;-) Not sure how it's different from the others yet, other than it's supposed to last 24 hours?

This new Maybelline eyeshadow is also supposed to last 24 hours. The swatches on my hand (see below) didn't show up very bright, but after applying several layers to my eyes, it's held up for over 6 hours now. (edit: it didn't last a whole 24 hours, but it's got more staying power than other eyeshadow that I wear!)

I saw this Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush on display and decided to give it a try. It's got a soft, cushiony feel to it, which is cool. It says it feels like a cream, but goes on like a powder. It is pretty light and just gave my cheeks a hint of color, which was what I was looking for.

I grabbed a new lip balm by Cover Girl because this winter weather has been ruining my lips! This shade is cinnamon, and it has SPF15. It feels very soft and moisturizing - so far I like it! It doesn't go on as dark as it looks, it just tints a little. 

Here are the swatches of the lip balm and eyeshadows. I can definitely see myself wearing these on a daily basis.

Lastly, I picked up The Hunger Games. The movie is coming out soon and I've heard great things from everyone who has read them. I'm definitely looking forward to reading this. 

So, my gift cards are all spent, but I think I picked up some things I can definitely use and will enjoy. Merry Belated Christmas to me!
