Book Club Friday - Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder

It's Book Club Friday!

This week I read Chocolate Chip Cookie Murder by Joanne Fluke.
Source
Synopsis:
Hannah Swensen already has her hands full, between dodging her mother's attempts to marry her off, and running Lake Eden, Minnesota's most popular bakery, The Cookie Jar. But when the Cozy Cow Dairy's beloved deliveryman is found murdered behind Hannah's bakery with her famous Chocolate Chip Crunchies scattered around him, Hannah sets out to track down a killer. The more Hannah snoops, the more suspects turn up. This is one murder that's starting to leave a very bad taste in Hannah's mouth, and if she doesn't watch her back, her sweet life may get burned to a crisp. (Thanks Goodreads!)

My thoughts:
I need to thank Sarah E. who mentioned the Hannah Swenson series in a comment on my Barbara Marr review. Because of her I started this series sooner than I had planned and I'm SO glad I did. Love. It.

I love the fact there are cookie recipes scattered throughout. I love how likeable Hannah is - smart, funny, generous with great detective skills! I love Hannah's cat, Moishe. Her mother meddling in her life cracked me up and made me feel just as annoyed. No, the poor girl does not want to get married lady! I was hooked on this story. I thought I had figured out the killer so many times to find out I was way off the mark. It kept me guessing until the end and I can't wait to read more of this series (there's like 14 books, yay!)

  6. YAY! I've read up to book 6 in this series and made 2 recipes out of this first book - I love them! Hannah is one of the best female protagonists ever and Moishe - oh Moishe! I love him :)

    They are good light reads!
