NYX/ BH Cosmetics Haul

I go through phases of buying lots of makeup and makeup related items. Sometimes it's the pricier brands, other times it's cheaper drug store, low end brands. I'm enjoying figuring out what works best for me.

I've bought several NYX items recently and I decided to give BH Cosmetics a try. I guess they are similar to ELF, but maybe slightly better? I'll let you know. First up, my BH Cosmetics order!

I ordered a new brush set. Did I really need them? Probably not, but it was 24 brushes for a ridiculously low price. Plus now hopefully I'll always have a clean brush. All the brushes are synthetic fibers. It came in this patent leather soft folding case that unravels. . .
to this! Lots o' brushes!
This is the large fan brush. I didn't take a picture of the small one, well, because they look the same! Also, I'm gonna confess I have no idea what to use a fan brush for.
Powder, blush, highlight, contouring brushes. I like the handles - they seem pretty sturdy and well put together. I'm hoping they all last awhile.
Close up!

Lot's o' eyeshadow brushes

More eyeshadow brushes
Sponge brush (not really sure why?), eyeliner brushes and small concealer brush
Brow and lash comb and spoolie brush. I actually legitimately needed a new brow/lash comb!
I also bought this palette after watching a Dulce Candy video on YouTube where she did a super cute green eye look with this palette. I found a coupon online and ended up paying on $9 for this. NINE BUCKS!!!
Lots of fun colors to choose from!
I especially like how in the close ups you can see the glitter in this purple.
I used the pretty shimmery purple (bottom right) one night just to add a little color and it was perfect. Matched my shirt and everything.
Ha, you can see which colors I stuck my fingers in!
I really like the olive-y green sparkly shade (bottom right)

And the greys/silvers. There isn't a real black in this palette, and I'm ok with that because myself and black eyeshadow seem to not work out well.
I went to Ulta to pick up some NYX glitter eyeliner - turquoise, gold and pewter.
Very pretty and it has pretty good staying power, although if it starts to peel, the whole line will peel off.
I picked up some NYX primer to try, to see how it compares to UD and others that I've tried. So far it's not really winning me over.
I ordered a NYX combo from Haute Look awhile ago that came with Dolleye mascara, which I have yet to test. .  .
A Super Fat Marker eyeliner, which is good in theory, but I find I can very easily end up drawing too thick of a line.
Close up of tip. I know MAC has the same kind of product with a much thinner tip which might be more manageable.
These eye crayons were bundled on Haute Look - what better time to test out a few for half the price!
Purple, white and baby blue
Swatches
Gold, lime green and black.
It's pretty hard to draw thin lines, so I'm still figuring these out. Perhaps I should sharpen them?
This lipstick came with the mascara and eye marker. It's a pretty intense color on the lips and looks much better with some gloss applied on top.
I thought it was going to be more nude, but that's ok because I already have several nude lipsticks, but I don't have a color like this!
So that's all for now. Plenty for me to play with and experiment. I really shouldn't need to buy makeup, and definitely not brushes, for a looooong time!
