Day 3 - Beach!

We woke up early at 7am and S needed to take care of some business so I decided to work out and do my Tone It Up Beach Babe DVD! I am 100% positive I have never worked out on a vacation before! I could feel pain in my abs throughout the day, so I guess it was a good workout!

Here's a quick tour of the room:
King sized bed that was awesome and the window
Other side of the bedroom
TV and desk in the living room
Couch that pulled out
My outfit for the day:
We hit the breakfast buffet and I'm glad I ate a lot. . . you'll find out why later. Eggs, potatoes, fruit (lots of it!) blueberry muffin, one quarter of a waffle. . . the Hyatt buffets are always awesome! We left the hotel to go to Target, which was literally across the street. *Heaven*
I am a really good speed shopper, you guys. While S grabbed a printer I picked out two t-shirts, grabbed some body wash and razors, none of which had to be returned! One t-shirt had Dumbo on it, the other had Snoopy. They were just so soft and comfy and I'm all about comfort!

Once we were back at the hotel we had to wait for S to conduct said previously mentioned business so I started reading my Kindle (to finish The Lotus Eaters) and looking out the hotel window at the palm tree studded view. The next thing I knew, I'd take a three hour nap! Pretty nice =)
S finally finished with his business at about 430pm and we were able to start the almost hour long drive to Santa Monica Pier. We got caught in some traffic, but luckily the navigation was able to take us on a detour through regular streets. And not through the ghetto!

We paid the extortionate $12 for parking and got a prime spot right next to the sand.
View of the pier and amusement park from the beach
First we walked along the pier, although I'm the only one who walked all the way to the end.
At the end of the pier. One lonely sailboat.
I stopped at one of the first booths that sold shot glasses, magnets, jewelry and other souvenir items. I picked up a shot glass but decided against buying any jewelry, even though there was a couple of really pretty plumeria necklaces I liked. Further along at a T-shirt stand S tried on muscle shirts and finally went with the good choice, a t-shirt. With the pretty necklaces on my mind, I went back to the stand where I bought my shot glass and picked up two necklaces I liked. I held them up for the lady at the booth and she just laughed and said "both!" so I turned to S and he picked this one, which was the one I was kinda leaning toward so I bought it!
We left the pier and walked across the sand to stand and paddle in the ocean.
Seagull prints in the sand
S freaked out about little sand bugs and crabs crawling over his feet when the waves rolled in - it was hilarious. We didn't hang out in the water long, but I wasn't going to come to SoCal and not put my feet in the Pacific! We all got wet when the waves rolled in and splashed up our legs. I was really beginning to kick myself for not remembering a swimsuit!
Waves rushing in
S, me and people in swimsuits (as is normal at the beach)

Cloooose up!
Sunsetting on Santa Monica
I was pretty much starving at this point because we hadn't eaten since the buffet at breakfast time and I only lasted this long because breakfast was so big. We didn't know where to eat around the Santa Monica area, especially a place that everyone would agree on, so we headed back to the hotel.
LA at night
Luckily, there was no traffic this time and we made it back in decent time. We ordered room service for dinner - I got chicken and avocado quesadillas and S ordered wings and cheesy bread. We watched a little bit of news (no surprise there) and then hit the sack to get some rest. Disneyland in the morning!
