More Olympic Thoughts
I know I'm a day late with this, but yesterday was just unbelievably crazy I didn't have a minute to myself. I just wanted to share my thoughts on my favorite parts of the closing ceremony, which I loved. The music was just great (although I know not everyone agreed). I loved the Spice Girls performance. I was such a fan back in the day and I really wanted to go to their reunion tour back in '08, but it wasn't meant to be. I'm secretly hoping they'll do another one!
I thought Adele was going to be performing, but since she's way pregnant by this point, I forgive her for not showing up. Take That performed instead, so that's almost as good! I was pretty excited to see them. The original boy band of the 90's. They even pre-date The Backstreet Boys! I remember when I got a CD player for Christmas, my first two CD's were Take That - Everything Changes, and a compilation. That must have been 1990 or something. . . once upon a time, in a land far, far away. . .
I'm not a big Russell Brand fan, so I didn't care much for his part in the show, but the rest was pretty cool. I thought the Monty Python act was funny and a good reminder to always look on bright side of life =) I also love The Pet Shop Boys, and while their costumes were rather weird, they sang one of my favorite songs, West End Girls.
I really liked how the athletes were spilt into sections to make the red and blue sections of the Union Jack and the runway/stage was the white parts. Very creative, in my opinion.
My favorite Oasis song was performed, Wonderwall, by Liam Gallagher and his new band, Beady Eye (totally weird name, if you ask me). It was just a show jam packed of my favorite songs. It was like the best concert ever! I'm actually really looking forward to the Rio Games in 2016. It'll be interesting to see how they follow Great Britain. I'd actually really like to go. I've always wanted to go to Brazil, and South America in general. Who knows, maybe it'll happen!!
