Day 4 - California Adventure

We woke up a little later than the day before so we ended up heading to the breakfast buffet at about the same time - 10am. There was almost no-one there, so I didn't have to battle anyone for the last waffle today. I was still waiting for a chocolate chip muffin to be offered, but settled for blueberry, which was pretty dang good. Here's what S ate for breakfast. . . round 1!
Here's what I ate for breakfast:
Ok, I confess. This was round two =)
We left for Disneyland and grabbed a bus from the parking lot "Woody" to the actual park. It was so hot standing in line for tickets, we almost bailed and came back later when it would be cooler, but we decided to stick it out and it really wasn't that bad once we got into the park with the breeze blowing and the indoor attractions.
Walking down the Main Street, I was able to snap a picture of Mickey in motion. These characters don't stop for anything!
We started at the Muppets Vision 3D which was amusing. . .
followed by the Monsters Inc ride which was cute.

Boo needs the bathroom
Boo beating up the evil monster.
They found Boo's door!
I've been to Disney parks quite a few times, and I have always avoided the Tower of Terror because honestly, the thought of just dropping down at speed scared me. And I don't scare that easy when it comes to roller coasters. But, I was out voted, so off we went!
The line was short and we were in our seats and buckled in within 5 minutes. It actually was pretty fun. And it was funny to hear S yelling. I wish I bought the picture they offer because our faces were hilarious.
Do I look like a tourist or what?
I've always wanted to try one of the ice cream sticks in the shape of Mickey Mouse (also my Dad's company supplies them! No, I didn't get a discount off the $4.25 ice cream).
We walked through a Bug Land and went to the 3D show there.
I closed my eyes throughout the show because I didn't want to see hornets flying at me and I kept my feet up so I wouldn't feel the air blowing (pretending to be bugs) and I kinda sat forward so I wouldn't get poked in the back. I'm wise to you, Bugs Life 3D.
I thought this women's restroom sign was so cute! Bugs!
We walked through Cars Land, but the ride we wanted to go on had a 120 minute wait and no fast pass, so we moved on just in time to see the parade of Pixar characters coming down the street!

The Incredibles!

Monsters Inc characters

It's Crush! He's 150, dude, and still young!
And the Toy Story gang.
After the parade, we headed to Paradise Pier to get in line for California Screamin'. I figured this was just a roller coaster and had no idea it went upside down until we were barreling along the track to the loop.
It was really neat though, and long. Totally worth it. I like roller coasters that are long enough to make it worth the wait. I would have wanted to go on the Ferris wheel, had it not felt like 150 degrees out. That was vetoed real quick.
Next up was a Toy Story ride. It was an arcade shooting game, where you sit in a car that whisks you around to different screens and you have to shoot at the targets to earn the most points. I totally had the highest score of our car. I think S thought he was going to take me down after the embarrassing defeat at the Men in Black ride last summer, but no! I dominated. Again.
We were going to try and go on the water ride, Grizzly River Run, but there was a 70 minute wait, so we passed and decided to head back to the hotel.
Does anyone else think this looks like a bear?
I did grab a picture of Minnie Mouse as we were walking to the exit though! She was talking to the crowd about her private plane. Must be nice ;-)
After a good five hours, and long waits at all the other attractions we wanted to go on, we left. My feet were hurting by that point, even with my new fancy dancy Dr. Scholl's gel inserts. We drove the 1.5 miles back to the hotel - I can't believe how close Disney was to the hotel - and collapsed in our rooms.

I finally remembered to take a picture of my dinner!! Chicken on ciabatta with lettuce and tomato and some kind of pesto. And I ordered fruit instead of french fries - look at me!!
Next up, Universal!
