I Voted!!

I voted today!!!! As I learnt for my test to become a citizen, it is a right and duty of a citizen to vote. So I did. And it was so easy and pain free. People really should take advantage of early voting. I found a location that was on my route to work. I was there at 7am, got straight through to a computer and was out in less than 10 minutes.

I went through the trouble of researching all the candidates in Dallas up for election so I knew what/who I was voting for. There were some propositions at the end of the ballot that I didn't know about though, so I didn't feel comfortable voting on those =(

When I checked in, they asked if I was a first time voter and when I said yes, the lady announced it to the room and everyone cheered, so that was nice. I didn't get a sticker though, like I thought I would, but my friend made me one instead!

So! If you haven't voted yet, make sure you do! You can't complain about the people in office if you don't bother to make your opinion heard, or at least that's my view. Don't let everyone else speak for you. I haven't had that opportunity until this year and I am very excited that I had the chance this year and for many years to come!
