Urban Decay Vice Palette

I received the new Urban Decay Vice Palette two Fridays ago. My super nice boyfriend is now helping finance my make-up addiction ;-)

I opened the pretty purple box. . .
And pulled out this bejeweled box!
It has a nifty push button to open. . .
Ta da! I'm totally veggin' out in my Cowboys jersey. I love how big this mirror is, and that it doesn't flop all the way open, which makes it perfect for putting on my make up at my desk.
Oooo, pretty colors. I love how many colors there are in this palette!
I took most of these pics in natural light. I'm still figuring out the best spot in my house and angle for these, but they mostly came out well and true to color. It's also really hard to keep a steady hand!!

Starting in the top left corner we have Desperation, Muse, Junkie and Chaos.
All four of these shades are great. I really love Junkie - it looks pretty green in the palette, but is actually a really pretty teal color when applied. Desperation is a taupe/brown/grey shade, Muse is sparkly brown and Chaos is a pretty blue shade. The color payoff is great and all the shadows feel smooth to the touch and apply great.
Moving to the right, we have Jagged, Blitz, Occupy and Unhinged.
Jagged is an olive/brown with chunky glitter. Blitz is a bright golden shade. Occupy is a blueish-grey shimmer and Unhinged is a medium teal (and one of my favorites).

As you can see in the swatch photo below, Jagged even looks a little gritty and doesn't have great color payoff, which several reviews I've read about the palette also noted. The other three shades had better color payoff and the same silky, smooth texture as the first four.
Moving to the bottom left corner we have Provocateur, Rapture, Nevermind and Echo Beach.
Provocateur is a pale pink with chunky glitter. Rapture is a slightly sparkly medium purple. Nevermind is a light bronzy/brown metallic shade and Echo Beach is a nice light pale golden shade.

Like Jagged, Provocateur has chunky glitter, looks a little gritty and doesn't have as good color payoff as the other three shades. I really like Rapture and Echo Beach works great on my inner corner and possibly as a highlighter.
The next four are Vice, Noise, Anonymous and Freebird. I love Vice. I love purple. I blended Rapture and Vice together for a really pretty purple look this past weekend.
Vice is a violet purple with great color payoff. As you can see Noise really is a bright, vibrant pink. Anonymous is pale ivory and so light you can barely see it in the swatch, but it's a great highlighter shade. Freebird is a light pink glittery shade, but does not have the best color payoff. Pretty in the pan, not so much on my arm.
The last two shades on the top rows are Penny Lane and Black Market. Penny Lane is a really pretty orangey shade and Black Market is a matte black.
The very last two colors are Armor and laced.
Armor has great color payoff, a pretty metallic grey color and Laced is a light taupe-pink matte shade.
I really like Black Market as a muted black eyeliner - it went on smooth and blended out well. Penny Lane, Armored and Laced had the same silky smooth texture as the other shades.

The palette comes with a Good Karma brush.

Pretty!
Funny that you can see all the finger prints in the shadows.
I really like all the UD palettes I have, but this might actually be my favorite. Lots of great colors to play around with. I recreated a look from Temptalia with Vice, Unhinged, Penny Lane, Noise, Anonymous and Echo Beach.
I created more looks with it, but can't seem to get a great pictures.

Here's a combo with Anonymous, Nevermind, Echo Beach and Muse. This picture was taken with my iPhone and at my desk and work, so not the best quality and lighting, but you get the idea!
I've used almost half the palette over the past two weeks. If you don't have a UD palette, this would be a great one to get. If you have several book of shadows and the new fun, feminine and dangerous palette, you might find some shades are similar or duplicates, but regardless I love it and definitely recommend!
