So I realize Christmas was weeks ago at this point, but I remembered to take lots of pictures this time (sorry, Thanksgiving) and wanted to post them. It was just my parents and me this year - Rik was up in Colorado on some ranch in the wilderness with his fiance and her family.
I kept teasing him with pictures like this, of headless Jelly Babies! Hey, if you don't come for the holidays, you don't get the treats (although my mom probably mailed him some, lol!)
We played a round of Boggle on Christmas Eve, since that was really one of the only games we could play with three people.
It was fun, and I totally cleaned house! Yay, me!
So, we went to bed without leaving beer and cookies out for Santa =/ Sorry, dude. Next year!
Christmas Morning! I'm wearing my mom's Who-ville like hat that jingles every time you move your head.
We started opening gifts and I was so excited to open my new Sigma Beauty Paris Palette!! You guys, the colors in this palette are gorgeous. Post with swatches coming soon.
Still got presents from Rik, even though he wasn't there.
Throw pillows! They were on my wish list because I can never bring myself to purchase them and I think our bed and couch are boring without them. So, yay!!
I was also super excited to open my Sigma Beauty brush set!!
And my NuMe Curl Jam set in purple zebra.
Earrings from my Grandma.
Mom opening the giant tin of Quality Street from R&T. I looooove Quality Street. Very excited to be able to munch on these all Christmas.
Is it just me, or does raw bird look totally gross? Draped with bacon and into the oven you go, mister!
The Texas Santa hat that I gave my Dad for Christmas. He loves it. And it fits him!
I finally decided to get dressed, around 11am or something! I used my NuMe curling wand for my hair, my Sigma Palette and brushes for my makeup and I'm wearing the scarf T (aka future sister in law, or FSIL) gave me, which is super cute.
We actually ended up having a little white Christmas down here in Texas. The snow stuck around for a couple days too! Here we have snow on a palm tree.
Cooked bird!
This is my favorite part (tradition brought over from England) sausage meatballs and sausages!! No turkey dinner is complete without, at least in our house!
Mom's lovely tablescape.
From the other side, and you can see the tree! TREE! I love Christmas trees. Christmas in general =)
My platter of food. What a feast! Turkey, sausages, sausage meatballs, roasted potatoes, mashed potatoes, red cabbage, Brussels sprouts, cranberry sauce and gravy. There were carrots, but I don't really "do" carrots. Love it. I also sent this picture to Rik. I know, I'm such a mean sister!
Little snowlady ornament. Hope her fox scarf is faux fur, or PETA will be after her ;-)
And she has a truffle inside!!! YUM!
Another favorite part of the holidays - Bakewell tarts! Mmmmm. . .
Again with the hat, sitting down to play Triominos. I lost. Badly.
Snow on rooftops!
COLD! Although not as cold as the screen shot Rik sent me of where he was. It was, like, 7. No joke.
White Russian, aw yeah. I'm gonna make this a tradition. White Russians whilst watching Home Alone. I'd been waiting all day for this movie and it finally came on at 7pm! It is my all time favorite Christmas movie, possibly followed by Home Alone 2. We also watched A Christmas Story for Dad.
Day after Christmas and there is still snow on the ground!
Totally drew a Longhorn in the snow on my back window. I'm such the artist, I know.
Dad is super awesome, de-icing my car =) See the Santa hat?!
My mom and I went out to hit the post Christmas sales. We went to a regular Target first, and it was just OK. They didn't have much Christmas things left in stock, so we just bought a few things and decided we would go to a Super Target after a stop to exchange a sweater at another store.
As we were pulling out onto the main road from a side street, my mom's car shuddered a bit, then the steering went out. It wasn't just that the power steering was gone, it was like the steering had completely locked up! Luckily, we were able to pull into a parking lot and wait for my dad while he brought another car for us to drive around. He then took my mom's car to the dealership to get fixed. Good thing it wasn't busy or on a highway!!
So we hit Super Target, DSW, Pier One, Barnes & Noble, Sephora. . . I didn't buy things everywhere, but here's my loot! I got a lot for about $110, which was my allotted spending amount.
I didn't photograph the wrapping paper, or cards or tags, etc, but here's the fun things! Glass gingerbread men mugs!
Penguino mug!
Pier one had some really pretty ornaments and they had countries on the tag, so I'm guess they came from there? I've started to like having one ornament with the year on, memorriiieeeesss!
I thought this cute little present was adorable and couldn't resist and it can be displayed next to my new main man. . .
SANTA!!! Omg, so loving this Santa decoration. He's glitter from head to toe, so of course it drives S crazy.
And that wraps it up!!! I had a really nice holiday, despite working some on Christmas Eve and the day after. Hope you had a great holiday too!

Looks like a great Christmas! I've asked for Sigma brushes last and this past Christmas and finally my parents admitted if they have to order online, they're not doing it.
ReplyDeleteI wish they would have told me that last year, I would have just bought them myself! Haha. I bet you are loving them!
Well, if they are ever in Minnesota, a Sigma store just opened at the Mall of America and they can purchase in person, lol!!
DeleteBut seriously, completely worth the investment. I think my brush post is going up this weekend, so stay tuned =)
