Off to a Running Start

Yesterday was a good day, a good start. I woke up early and did some toning exercises, with some drills mixed in to get my heart rate up. I ate ok throughout the day, but not as lean and green as I should have. My major victory was later that night at the gym!
That's right, I went 5.50 miles on the elliptical. I find I can go farther and harder on the elliptical because it's easier on my knees. I usually stop running on the treadmill because of knee pain, but I don't experience that on the elliptical.
 
I'm hoping to make it back to the gym tonight, but that depends on when I leave work. The gym closes at 7pm on Friday nights, lame. I also want to do some Tone It Up routines, so if I don't make it to the gym I'll do more of those and mix in some drills. Yay, exercise! 
 
Goals for this weekend:
  • Work out everyday
  • Minimze the wine spritzers
  • Make good food choices
  • Get some good rest =)
I was trying to accomplish the 100 miles by Valentine's Day challenge for Tone It Up, but I'm only at 34.60 miles as of today which means I'd have to do over 9 miles a day every day until next Thursday, so while technically it is possible, with work and life, it's probably not. I'm still going to keep truckin' on, though, and see how far I get.

  1. I have the same problem with treadmills but it's with my ankles and not my knees. So frustrating! The elliptical is my savior. You rock! I haven't done that much in a long time. I'm trying to get a couple of workouts in this weekend as well, good luck!
